In the Name of God, Amen, I, Caleb Reynolds, of
the Town of Greenwich, in Fairfield County and Colony
of Connecticut, in New England, being sick and weak in
body, but of sound memory, blessed be God for it, and
not knowing how siiort my time may be in this world,
do make and ordain this my last will and testament, and
Firstly and principally, I give up my soul to God,
hoping for acceptance thro the mediation of His Son
Jesus Christ our Lord. My body I commit to tlie ( arth
to be buried with decent Christian burial at the discre-
tion of my Executor and as toucliing such worldly goods
as it has jileased God to endow me with I give and dis-
pose of in manner and form as foUoweth, viz:
Impr. My will is that all my just debts and funeral
charges be paid out of my moveables.
Item. My will is that my honored father, Joshua
Reynolds should have Ten Pounds, York Currency, an-
nually for his support, ]irovided lie should have need of
it out of my estate towards my part for his maintenance
in case of need.
Item. I give unto my son, Caleb Reynolds, his heirs,
etc., one-third part of my lands and as much more as
shall be prized at Fifty " Pounds, York Currency, pro-
vided he shall ])ay such part of the legacies to his sisters
as shall be Iiereafter mentioned and lie to have his choice
in the lands.
Item. I give unto my two sons, Joseph Reynolds and
David Reynolds, tiie remainder part of my land to be
equally divided between tliem to be to them and tiieir
heirs provided they sliall iiay such legacies to their sis-
ters as hereafter mentioned.
Item. I give unto my four daughters, Ann Rey-
nolds, Mercy Reynolds, Eunice Revnolds and Mary Rey-
nolds, Thirtv-five Pounds eacii York Currency, and to
my aforesaid daughter, Ann, I give Five Pounds more of
like Currency, the said sums to be paid out of my move-
ables so far" as they will go and what is wanting to be
paid by their three lirotiiers equally, or if they refuse to
have it out of my lands. And I do nominate, constitute
and appoint Mr. Gideon Reynolds (probably tlie Gideon,
p. 66. Alvah's book, or Gideon, Jr.) to be the Executor
of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking any
former wills made bv me ratifyinar and confirming this
and only this as my last AVill and Testament.
In Witness Wliereof, I liave hereunto set my Hand
and Seal this IPtli day of August, A. D. 176.5.
