been produced through the courtesy of the Jacksonville
Genealogical Society. The Historical Services Division of the
Florida Department of Military Affairs provided the photostatic
copies of the original muster roles and individual members of the
Jacksonville Genealogical Society laboriously transcribed the
information contained therein and later, proofed and typed them.
They have been accorded the right to produce these lists in book
form for commercial sale.

The Department would like to express its deepest appreciation to
the Society for their willingness to help us provide this
important historical material to the widest possible audience.

Muster Roll of Edward T. Kendrick's Company of Florida Mounted Volunteers ...
called into service of the State of Florida by his Excellency James E. Broome,
Governor, (under the order of the 15th of August 1856) at Camp Jones (the place
of general rendezvous) on the 23d day of August 1846 to serve for the term of
six months from the date of enrollment unless sooner discharged - from the 23d
day of August 1856 (when authorized) to the 14th day of January 1857.

The Company was organized by Captain Edwd. T. Kendrick at Camp Jones (Hillsbo-
rough Co. Fla.) in the month of August 1856 and marched thence to Tampa, Fla.
where it arrived the 14th of January 1857, a distance of 20 miles.

By signatures, on 14 January 1857 at Tampa, Florida, this muster roll was cert-
f ied as true and accurate by Capt. Edward T. Kendrick, commanding the company,
and by Jesse Carter, Special Agent & Mustering Officer.
