6. EBENEZER2 William,^ b. in Stratford, Conn.; no date is
given, but he owned the covenant there in 172|. lie settled in
Waterbury, Conn., and the early records of that place — the best
I ever saw — state him to have been the son of William, of Strat-

Phinehas as the oldest, Stephen as his youngest son, and two
grandsons John and David Samuel. This one is said to have m.
Sarah Landon. Was she his 2"*^ wife, or was Sarah a widow?
My examination of this branch has been casual and hurried, and
I have, in one point, given way to Rev. B. L. Swan, an able
genealogist, for some ^''ears pastor at Stratford. The'whole family
descended from William, at least of the name, have disappeared
from Stratford.
