David }vIason, ( 1726-94). served in the artillery until detailed
to establish a depot of military supplies at Springfield. He was
deputy commissary general, 1780, when he retired from active
duty. He was born in Boston, where he died.

Descendant of Hon. Hwen Biddle, of Pennsylvania.

Granddaughter of William Canby Biddle and Rachel Miller, his wife.

Gr. -granddaughter of Clement Biddle and Mary Cahby, his wife.

Gr.-gr. -granddaughter of Owen Biddle and Sarah Parke, his wife.

Owen Biddle, (1737-99), ^^'^^ '^ delegate to the Provincial
Congress, a member of the Committee of Safety, 1775; dele-
gate to the Constitutional Convention, 1776, and President of
the Board of War, 1777. He was a "Fighting Quaker" and
one of the eichtv merchants, headed by Robert }Jorris, who
became responsible for army supplies when the soldiers were
suffering. His hous'.' v/as destroved when the enemy occupied
the city and on the site now stands Girard College. He was
born in Phila^'; Inh'a, v.here h-/ (!:â– '(!.

Granddaughter of William King and Rachel Starr, his wife.

Gr. -granddaughter of Ezra Starr and Elizabeth Codwise, his wife.

Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Daniel Starr and Rachel, his wife.

Daniel Starr, (1724-77), who had served in the early wars,
was a member of the Light Horse militia. His house was
burned at Danbury, where he was accidentally killed.

Ezra Starr, (1755-1805), raised a company and served as
lieutenant, captain and major. He was born in Danbury, where
he died.
