liam-, William'^), born Dec. 18, 1724; died Feb. 7, 1809; mar-
ried first, Mary ; married second, Elizabeth, daughter of
Ebenezer and Ruth (Bates) Gibbs of Chatham, Conn., and
Granville, Mass. He removed to Granville, Mass., about 1778,
having purchased land there in 1760. Children born in Chat-
ham, Conn.

770. John, bapt. Nov. 17, 1745. He removed to Granville, Mass.,
about 1773, and was living in 1809 at the time of his
father's death. He served in the Revolution ; was corporal
in the "Minute Men," April 20, 1775, to April 29, 1775, and
sergeant in the expedition against Ticonderoga, May 6,
1777, to July 14, 1777. He was living in Otsego County,
N. Y., in 1790. No trace of his descendants has been
found.

lyg^ — said to have been killed in a raid after horse thieves ; mar-
ried Mercy, daughter of James Burt. She was born 1754, and
married second, Nov. 14, 1797, Oliver Spelman of Granville.
He removed about 1773 from Chatham, Conn., to Granville,
Mass. He served in the Revolution as private, Oct. 21 to Nov.
17, 1776, April 17 to August 19, 1777, and Sept. 12 to Oct. 23,
1777, and as clerk, June 12 to June 17, 1782. Children born in
Granville, Mass.
