by the Hon. Eliza Maria, who d. 1891, 2nd dau. of
Thomas Francis, 1st Lord Cottesloe; b. 1862 ; m. 1894
Kathleen Mabel, younger and only surviving dau. of
the Hon. Norman Leslie-Melville, and has, with other
issue, a son, * Henry Leslie, h. 1905. Mr. Farrer, who
was educated at Eton and at Trinity Coll., Cambridge,
and was formerly Capt. 3rd Batt. Princess of Wales's
Own Yorkshire Regt., is a Magistrate for the W.

Eldest son of the Rev. Matthew Thomas Farrer, of

Louisa, who d. 1856, eldest dau. of Gen. Sir William
Anson, 1st Bart., G.C.B. ; b. 1849; m. 1877 Elizabeth
Georgiana Anne, 2nd dau. of the late Col. Arthur
John Reynell Pack, C.B., of Avisford, Sussex, and has,
with another son, * Reginald John, educated at Balliol
Coll., Oxford ; b. 1880. Mr. Farrer, who was educated
at Eton and at Balliol Coll., Oxford, and called to the
Bar at the Middle Temple 1875, is a Magistrate for
Westmorland and for the W. Riding of Yorkshire, and
was High Sheriff of Yorkshire 1897. — Ingleborough, via

who was educated at Rugby, and assumed that surname
in lieu of Ecroyd by royal license 1896, is Lord of the
