KESLER, JOSEPH (son of Frederick Kesler and Emeline
Parker). Born Jan. 11, 1845, in Iowa. Came to Utah 1861.

Married Annie Pitts Feb. 4, 1864. who died Jan. 28, 1898.

A pioneer to southern Utah, one of the first settlers on The
Muddy, spending his entire life In the "Dixie" country.
Died March, 1898. at Caliente, Nev. He leaves a large pos-
terity in the southern part of the state.

KESLER, ALONZO PRATT (son of Frederick Kesler and
Jane Elizabeth Pratt). Born Jan. 29, 1868, Salt Lake City.

Married Donnette Smith December, 1900, Salt Lake City
(daughter of Joseph F. Smith and Julina Lambson), who
was born 1872, Salt Lake City. Their children: Donnette
b. March 13. 1902; Marion b. March 3, 1903; Alonzo b. April
26. 1906; Henry b. April 1907; Imogene b. April 11, 1909;
Mack b. August 1911.

Assistant postmaster at Salt Lake 1904 to date. Mission-
ary to London 1894-96; president Eastern States mission.
New York City 1897-99. Owner of the Kesler Ranch, where
the Garfleld Smelter and town now stands. Organized the
Mount Pickle Company. Architect and constructor. Built
Kesler apartment house. Instrumental In organizing sev-
eral successful business enterprises.

of Newton, Lincolnshire, Eng.). Born Feb. 1, 1806, Newton.
Came to Utah Oct. 5, 1856, Edmund Ellsworth handcart
company.

Eng. She was born July 28, 1812; died March 12, 1902, Un-

James Kettle and Mary Mackinder, Gosberton Bank. Came
to Utah in 1878 by rail). She was born Sept. 1, 1837. Came
to Utah Oct. 8, 1866, Andrew H. Scott (Provo, Utah) com-
pany. Their children: Mary Ann b. May 5, 1868, m. Samuel
S. Boucher; George Robert b. Sept. 30, 1869, d. Oct. 20,
1869; Judith Elizabeth b. Aug. 30, 1871, m. Charles McClellan;

Loraine Co., Ohio (daughter of Amos Worden and Mary
Case of Antwerp, Jefferson county, N. Y.), who was born

klmer, N. Y., pioneers Sept. 12, 1850, Captain Johnson com-

March 19, 1894; McLloyd b. May 30, 1896; Maralda b. March
18, 1898; Zona b. April 13, 1900; Marion b. Sept. 11, 1902;
Alton Bradley b. May 29, 1905. Family home Ferron. Utah.

Elder; Sunday school and ward teacher. Moved to Ferron
from Manti 1890; at these places he has used his life in
the upbuilding of the country making canals, wagon roads,
bridges, breaking out the land and building the homes.

Utah (daughter of Elliot Hartwell and Hortense Rogers of
Massachusetts and New York; pioneers 1863), who was born
July 20, 1853. Their children: Mary Hortense; Edwin Elliot;
Douglas Brooks; Scott Prescott. Family home. Salt Lake
City.

Mayor of Park City, Utah. Mine supplies business. Died
Oct. 11, 1893, in Massachusetts.
