PETERSON, GEORGE (son of Peter Hanson, born Sept. 20,
1782. and Anna Margaret Torgenson. born Aug. 17, 1787,
both of Gothland, Sweden). Born Feb. 9, 1817, Alfta, Goth-
land. Came to Utah Oct. 1, 1864, John Smith company.

Married Cecilie Lorentena Olafson (daughter of Olof Olson
and Brita Mortenson, of Gothland, Sweden), who was born
Nov 26, 1831. Their children: Lars Peter; Anna; Olof;
Charles E.; Josephine; Cecilia; Elizabeth; George D. Family
resided Richfield, Gunnison and Scipio, Utah.

Assisted in bringing immigrants to Utah. Settled In Rich-
field, moved to Gunnison, later to Scipio, Utah. Died Aug.
4, 1890, at Scipio, Utah.

PETERSON, LARS PETER (son of George Peterson and
Cecilia Lorentena Olafson). Born Feb. 23, 1856, Gothland,
Sweden. Came to Utah 1864 with his parents.

Married Elizabeth Brown, Scipio, Utah (daughter of Mar-
tin Peter Brown and Anna Hanson, pioneers Sept. 7, 1855,
Noah T. Guymon company). She was born Nov. 8, 1861,
Gunnison, Utah. Their children: Allen Louis; Loreen Eliza-
beth; Tessie Ann; Donald M.; George Clifford; Rexton B.
Family resided Richfield, Gunnison and Scipio.

in New Jersey. Came to Utah In early days.

Hale June 19, 1907.

Came to Utah 1855.

(daughter of Amos Hunt and Rebecca Wiggins of Ogden,
Utah). She was born Dec. 10, 1860. Their children: Eliza
Ellen b. Aug. 28, 1879, m. James B. Stringham; Josephine
b. June 24, 1881, m. William D. Hanks; John E. b. July 9,
1883, m. Grace McClellan; Isabelle b. Sept. 30, 1885; Mary
b. Jan. 16, 1887; Bertha b. Aug. 9, 1889, m. James E. Hoyle;
Mae b. March 12, 1892; Melvin b. May 21, 1896. Family home
Thurber, Wayne Co., Utah.

Moved from Salt Lake City to St. George 1861 and resided
there 22 years, helping to build up that city; worked on
the St. George temple 18 months; labored as teacher in
the St. George ward; acted as guard at the time the Indians
