1908, Smithfleld. Utah.

Settled at Brigham City, Utah, Aug. 1856, moved south in
1857, and returned to Paradise. Utah. 1860; moved to Ox-
ford, Idaho, 1866, and returned to Smithfleld 1867. Assisted
in bringing immigrants to Utah 1868. Indian war veteran.



CRAGUJf, SIMEOPf (son of Elisha Cragun and Mary Os-
borne, former died at Council Bluffs, Iowa, latter at Pleasant
View, Ind.). He was born Aug. 13, 1827, Richland, Rush
county, Ind. Came to Utah Sept. 26, 1850, Jonathan Foote
company.

Married Susannah Mower 1847, Kanesville, Iowa (daugh-
ter of Henry Mower and Mary Amik, former a pioneer 1848,
died at Springville, Utah, latter died at Kanesville, Iowa;
married Nov. 4. 1817). She was born July 11, 1829, Strong-
town, Pa., and died June 16, 1899, Pleasant View, Utah.
Their children: Mary Mahala, d. 1850; William Henry, d.
aged three years; Wilford Elisha b. Dec. 4, 1853, m. Mary
Ann Ellis; Willard U. b. Nov. 7, 1854, m. Laura Shaw; Wil-

Settled at Cold Springs, near Willard, Utah, 1851; moved
to what is now Pleasant View, Weber county, the first set-
tler at that place; served as first school trustee and gave
his room for the first term of school at that place. Died
Feb. 9, 1874, North Ogden, Utah.

CRAGUN, WILFORD ELISHA (son of Simeon Cragun and
Susannah Mower). Born Dec. 4. 1853, North Ogden, Utah.

Married Mary Ann Ellis Jan. 2, 1870, Salt Lake City
(daughter of Edmund Ellis and Sarah Barnaby of Melk-
sham. Wiltshire, Eng., pioneers July 1868, Capt. Thatcher

and Susannah S. Brown, born April 15, 1838, Adams town-

where they built a fort for protection against the Indians,
who were very troublesome at that time. Mason; carpen-
ter; farmer and stockraiser. Died at Manti.

Celia Sharp). Born Sept. 12, 1861, Mantt, Utah.

Married Evalyn Lowry Oct. 22, 1885, St. George, Utah
(daughter of John Lowry and Mary Allen of Manti). She

Drove three yoke of oxen across the plains when thirteen
years old; hauled rock for bee hive, lion and sugar houses,
and for the penitentiary in 1854 and 1855; moved to Spanish
Fork 1856 and served as policeman eight years; city mar-
shal two years; city councilman two terms; school trustee
two terms; served in second state legislature. Indian
war veteran. Served on first committee of Strawberry Val-
ley Irrigation Project.

Married Emma Jane Crofts July 6, 1874 (daughter of
John Crofts and Ellen Rothwell who were married Jan. 1,
1854, In England, pioneers Oct. 17, 1862, Henry W. Miller com-
pany). She was born May 28, 1857 at St. Conama, Pa., and
came to Utah with parents; died Aug. 15, 1905. Their chil-
