citor-General, 1579; Attorney-General, 1580; Lord Chief Justice Common Pleas,
1592, and of King's Bench, 1603. He died June 10, 1607, aged 76, and was buried
at Wellington ; M.I. there. He married Amy, daughter of Hugh Games or Adam,
of Glamorganshire.

to his brother Edward Popham.

2 He married, 1. Oct. 29, 1635, Dorothy, daughter of Richard Cole, of Nailsea
Court, Esq. She died April 2, 1643 ; buried in St. Mark's Chapel, Bristol. His
2nd wife was Letitia, daughter of William Carre, who was buried at Stoke New-
ington, April 27, 1660.
