TWO CASES OF ACUTE YELLOW ATROPHY OF THE LIVER.

GussiE D., single, aged 20 years; bom in Russia; dressmaker. Ad-
mitted November 27, 1900.
Family History.— ¥aihev committed suicide. Mother suffering from
melancholia for the past nine years.
Previous History.— ^o history of typhoid, pneumonia, or rheuma-
tism. About three years ago had an attack of pain in the right hypo-
chondrium. Nothing further elicited as to the character of this attack.
Patient was always nervous and of a morose disposition. Three weeks
previous to her admission, had an hysterical attack of laughing and
crying lasting for fifteen minutes. Brother averred that such spells
