The report of W. M. Nauer, Grand Master, with
appendix, was submitted as follows:
REPORT OF GRAND MASTER.
To the Grand Lodge, I. 0. 0. F., of Indiana:
We are assembled for the purpose of transacting business for
this, the Seventy-eighth Semi-annual Communication of the Grand
Lodge, I. O. O. F., of Indiana, and for the purpose of advancing the
work and interest of Odd Fellowship for over 84,000 subordinate
members that are distributed among 763 subordinate lodges, and
also for over 46,000 Rebekah members who hold membership in
nearly 600 Rebekah lodges.
For the first time I have the opportunity to greet you as Repre-
sentatives of our many thousands of Indiana Odd Fellows, and it
is with the kindliest fraternal friendship and love. The past six
9428 PROCEEDINGS OF THE [May,
months have been busy months for me in doing my full duty as
1 understood it for the good of this great fraternity, and I con-
gratulate you for the reason that it is my honest belief, a con-
clusion to which I have arrived after careful study and In
being In constant touch with the membership, that Odd Fellow-
ship In Indiana today is more progressive, energetic and doing
things, than ever before in the existence of this Grand Lodge.
There has not been a single day since the 20th day of last No-
vember that I have not been busy with the things pertaining to
Indiana Odd Fellowship, and I hereby submit my report of the
things done pertaining to my office of Grand Master.
D. D. G. M. Round Table Meetings.
On assuming the duties of Grand Master, in consultation with
Grand Secretary W. H. Leedy, Grand Patriarch Stephen O.
Sharp and several other influential Odd Fellows, we arrived at
the conclusion that the work of Odd Fellowship in Indiana could
be done along more practical lines If a better understanding was
had with our Deputies, with the end in view of getting personally
acquainted with each of tliem and getting them to agree to worl*
in conjunction for the good of all branches of the Order, believing
that if the Order is to have a substantial growth that all branches
must work in harmony. So with this end in view I, in conjunc-
tion with the Grand Patriarch, issued calls for Round Table
meetings of the District Deputy Grand Masters and the District
Deputy Grand Patriarchs to meet with us in different parts of
the State that would be most convenient to them, so that we
might have heart to heart talks with them, pointing out the
things expected of such officers and urging them to get busy and
do something for Odd Fellowship. Nine such meetings were held
at the following places, viz : Seymour, Mitchell, Princeton, Terre
Haute, Indianapolis, Richmond, Fort Wayne, South Bend and
Logansport. These meetings were a success in every Instance.
Of the ninety-two District Deputy Grand Masters called for these
conferences seventy-seven of them attended, and I am flrmly of
the opinion that these meetings did much to urge the Deputies
on to greater and more successful action, and having been over
the entire State since these meetings were held, and having been
in close touch with the membership, I know that the desired
result has been accomplished. I earnestly trust that this Grand
Lodge will concur in all things done in this respect, and I there-
fore ask for your approval of my actions.

Joint Round Table Meetings.
The success of the Round Table meetings held by Grand Mas-
ter Harman during his administration in 1912 was an incentive
to again hold such meetings. Believing that the idea of the
co-operation of all branches of the Order for the advancement
of Odd Fellowship as was presented at the Kound Table meetings
of the District Deputy Grand Masters and District Deputy Grand
Patriarchs should be carried out at these meetings, the Grand
Master, the Grand Patriarch of the Grand Encampment and
the President of the Rebekah Assembly took part in these meet-
ings, which were called Joint Round Table meetings. The first
of these meetings was held on February 3d and w^ere continued
until forty-three were held at the following places, viz : Muncie,
Rushville, Tipton, ShelbyA'ille, Aurora, Madison. Scottsburg, An-
derson, Mentone, New Salisbury, Ilatlield, Mt. Vernon, Stewarts-
ville, Hazelton, Washington, Carlisle, Greencastle, Flora, Otter-
bein, Brookston, Brazil, Winslow, Orleans, LaFayette, Brook,
Russiaville, South Bend, Kendallvllle, LaGrange, Dunfee, Green-
town, Hortonville, Fortville, Ridgeville, Knox, Osgood, Lexington,
Brookville, Liberty, Tell City, Boonville, Corydon and Rochester
The Round Table meetings were held in the afternoon in each
case. The talks made at these meetings were made with the
idea of creating a better Odd Fellowship and to assist the weak
and Inactive lodges. From three to fifteen subordinate lodges
were represented at each of these meetings and much good was
