Emma Elwood^ (Blackmer) Douglas married on March
1st, 1880, she married on the day of her death according
to one authority as to her death. Again if she died
January 30th, 1880, she could not have married on March
1st, 1880, as on that date she was dead.

aged 57 years, and was buried there in Albany Rural Ceme-
tery. His parentage is not known to me. AJmeda Sophia'
(Thacher) Dart, widow of Lyman Gordon Dart, married a

second time , 1867, about, at Albany, N. Y., to Martin

Van Buren Talmadge, born , at ; he lived at Al-
bany, N. Y., and at Guilderland, N. Y. ; he was a mason by
trade and was living in 1910. His parentage is not known
to me.

Charles Austin^ Thatcher enlisted .August 8th, 1862, in the
7th N. Y. Heavy Artillery for 3 years ; he was wounded at Cold
Harbor, Va., June 3rd, 1864, and taken prisoner; he was for 3
months in Libby Prison, and was then paroled and sent home. He
was discharged from the U. S. Service, May 25th, 1865, as a Brevet
1st Lieutenant for bravery at Cold Harbor. After his return from
Libby Prison he was Hospital Steward and W'ard Master and Li-
brarian of the U. S. General Hospital at Annapolis Navy Yard,
Maryland.

I have no further record of this couple. Yarmouth Register
Cape Cod Families, No. 75, p. 8, states that Hattie Lewis Taylor
(daughter of Joice Taylor, Jr., and his wife Jemsha Lewis) mar-
ried in 1832 to Charles Layman. Perhaps Abigail' Gorham, his
first wife, had died between 1824 and 1832, and this Hattie Lewis
Taylor was Charles Layman's second wife.

cutta, India, and was there buried. She was a daughter of
William Bray (bom September 19th, 1766; died May 9th,
1849; married July 5th, 1796) and his second wife, Mary

Hedge (bom , 1774, about; died April 19th, 1846, aged

72 years), of Yarmouth, Mass.

in 1803 by John P. Becker, author of The Sexagenary, and was a
part of his farm. His body lies buried here, but the stone is
missing.
