TRANS-CONTINENTAL FREIGHT BUREAU EAST-BOUND TARIFF No. 27-E (I. C. C.

No. 1092 OF R. H. COUNTISS, AGENT).

The effective date of Explanation of Circle Character, published on page 17 of Supplement No. 6 to Trans-Con-
tinental Freight Bureau East-Bound Lumber Tariff No. 27-E (I. C. C. No. 1092 of R. H. Countiss, Agent), providing for
routing restrictions on Lumber, etc., from points in California and Nevada to Colorado destinations via Colorado & South-
ern Railway Co. , is under suspension and may not be applied until May 24, 1922. The effective date thereof is hereby post-
poned until May 24, 1922.

ARRANGEMENTS APPLICABLE DURING PERIOD OF SUSPENSION.

Pending restoration, reissue or cancellation of arrangements referred to in the foregoing, rates and routing pub-
lished in Trans-Continental Freight Bureau East-Bound Tariff No. 27-E (I. C. C. No. 1092 of R. H. Countiss, Agent), as
amended, will apply.

THE ORDER OF THE INTERSTATE COMMERCE COMMISSION FOLLOWS:



INVESTIGATION AND SUSPENSION DOCKET No. 1478.
(Order dated January 23, 1922.)

ROUTING RESTRICTIONS ON LUMBER FROM CALIFORNIA AND NEVADA TO COLORADO DESTINATIONS



IT APPEARING, That there has been tiled with the Interstate Commerce Commission by R. H. Countiss, Agent,
a tariff containing schedules stating new individual and joint regulations and practices affecting rates and charges, to
become effective on the 24th day of January, 1922, designated as follows :

R. H. COUNTISS, AGENT: Supplement No. 5 to I. C. C. No. 1092;

IT IS ORDERED, That the Commission upon complaint, without formal pleading, enter upon a hearing concerning
the lawfulness of the regulations and practices stated in the said schedules contained in said tariff on page 17 thereof,
the character "8" in a circle, and the explanation of said character.

IT FURTHER APPEARING, That said schedules make certain increases in rates for the interstate transportation
of lumber and other forest products, and the rights and interests of the public appearing to be injuriously affected there-
by, and it being the opinion of the Commission that the effective date of the said schedules contained in said tariff should
be postponed pending said hearing and decision thereon ;

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That the operation of the said schedules contained in said tariff be suspended, and
that the use of the regulations and practices therein stated be deferred upon interstate traffic until the 24th day of May,
1922, unless otherwise ordered by the Commission, and no change shall be made in such regulations and practices during
the said period of suspension unless authorized by special permission of the Commission.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That the regulations and practices thereby sought to be altered shall not be changed
by any subsequent tariff or schedule, until this investigation and suspension proceeding has been disposed of or until
the period of suspension and any extension thereof has expired, unless authorized by special permission of the Commission.

AND IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That a copy of this order be filed with said schedules in the office of the Inter-
state Commerce Commission, and that copies hereof be forthwith served upon the carriers parties to said schedules and
upon R. H. Countiss, Agent, and that said carriers parties to said schedules be, and they are hereby, made respondents
to this proceeding, and that they be duly notified of the time and place of the hearing above ordered.
