To the inhabitants of the Town of Shelburne, in the
County of Coos, in said State, qualified to vote in Town
affairs :



You are hereby notified to meet at the Town Hall in said
Shelburne on Tuesday, the ninth day of March next, at nine of
the clock in the forenoon, to act upon the following subjects :

1. To choose all necessary town officers for the year ensuing.

2. To raise such sums of money as may be necessarj'^ to de-

ix2.y town charges for the year ensuing and make appropriation
of the same.

3. To hear the report of the budget committee and act
thereon.

4. To hear the reports of Town Officers heretofore chosen
and pass any vote relating thereto.

5. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise
and appropriate for the maintenance of town highways and
bridges.

6. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise
and appropriate for Town Road Construction of highways.

7. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise
and appropriate for the library.

8. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise
and appropriate for the care of cemeteries.

9. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise
and appropriate for relief of town poor.

10. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise
and appropriate for fire prevention.



WARRANT 3

11. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate $81.90,
based on a 1-100 of 1% of the assessed valuation, for the town's
share of cooperative participation in the White Mountains Region
Association.

12. To see if the town will vote to purchase the so-called
Jewell or Savings Bank lot, that portion of which Ijes south of
U. S.-X'. H. Route 2, and between it and the Portland Pipe Line
Company's right of waj^, and raise and appropriate monies for the
same.

13. To see if the town will vote to petition the State Tax
Commission to have an audit made by the Division of Municipal
Accounting, and to make an appropriation to cover the expense
of such audit.

14. To see what sum of mone}- the town will vote to raise and
appropriate for Civilian Defense.

15. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to ad-
minister or dispose of any real estate acquired by the town through
tax collector's deeds.

16. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to dis-
tribute the inventory blanks when taking inventory.

17. To transact anj- other business that may legally come
before said meeting.

Shelburne, qualified to vote in district affairs :

You are hereby notified to meet at the Town Hall in said
district on the ninth day of March, 1943, at 10:45 o'clock in the
forenoon to act upon the following subjects :

1. To choose a Moderator for the ensuing year.

2. To choose a Clerk for the ensuing year.

3. To choose a member of the School Board for the ensuing
three years.

4. To choose a Treasurer for the ensuing year.

5. To determine and appoint the salaries of the School Board
and Truant Officer, and fix the compensation of any other officers
or agents of the District.

6. To hear the reports of Agents, Auditors, Committees, or
officers heretofore chosen, and pass any vote relating thereto.

7. To choose Agents, Auditors and Committees in relation to
any subject embraced in this Warrant.

8. To see if the District will vote to make any alteration in
the amount of money required to be assessed for the ensuing year
for the support of public schools and the payment of the statutory
obligations of the District, as determined by the School Board in
its annual report.

9. To transact any other business that may be legally
brought before said meeting.

Report of School Superintendent



Shelburne, N. H., Feb. 1, 1943
To the School Board and Citizens of Shelburne :

Your school opened the present year with an enrollment of
n pupils and a new teacher — Miss Minetta Tibbets of Colebrook,
in charge.

Miss Tibbets is a graduate of Plymouth Teachers' College and
has had considerable teaching experience.

Last June two pupils were graduated from the Eighth Grade
and are now continuing their school work at Gorham High School.

The school has been visited by j^our Superintendent at fre-
quent intervals and the work of pupils carefully inspected and
checked bj^ use of Standardized Tests. On the whole, the accom-
plishments of pupils have been good.

The school year — 1941-1942 — was 36 weeks and the percentage
of attendance for the year was 96.6.
