Note. -All publicatidns of the Di'partmeiit (except laws and treaties) have, since Oct. 1.
19l'y. Ijt-en numbered consecutively in the order In which they were sent to press. Publi-
cations of a similar character are broUKht within well-defined series, and each series publlca-
tion hears a series nuuil)er in addition to its publication number. The diplomatic
correspondence of the United States is published in the volumes entitled Foreign relations
of the I'nited States. Laws are issued in separate series and are numbered within each
series in the order in which they are signed. Treaties are issued in a separate series and
are numbered in the order in wliicli they are proclaimed. Treaties are also published in the
compilation Treaties and other international acts of the United States of America, which
contains literal copies of the documents, followed by notes of a textual and procedural
character. The Department of State Bulletin, published weekly and indexed semiannually
as of the dates of the last issues in June and Di-cember, contains the texts of the daily
niimeojrraphed press releases, information re^anliii),' treaties, and other material on the
Department's work. The Bulletin contain.'^ eacli (luarter a complete list of the Department's
pulilications for tlie preceding quarter.
The list below frequently includes certain relevant publications issued by other agencies of
the Government under rcQuisition of the Department of State and certain relevant congres-
sional documents.

Note. — The Board of Tax Appeals reports are first promulgated in leaflet form, designated
as "advance sheets." At the end of each month, these advance sheets are consolidated into
pamphlet form arid published as "advance parts." . A list of memorandum opinions is in-
cluded in each pamphlet. Later, the advance parts are consolidated and issued in bound
volumes. Both the advance .sheets and the advancd parts are sold on subscription by the
Superintendent of Documents, Government Printing Office, Washington, D. C. The subscrii>
tion price of the "advance sheets" is $2.25 per volume, foreign subscription, $2.85 ; single
copies usually 5c. The "advance parts," or monthly consolidations, are sold as follows : 20c.
