Hanning Spelce, making elaborate botanical and meteorological notes,
and received the gold medal of the Royal Geograpiiical Society in
1864. C.l>. (civil), 7th Sep. 1866. C.S.I., 24th Aug. 1868. Died
at Nairn, nth Feb. 1891. Portrait in Great Window of Mitchell
Hall, Marischal Coll. Brass to his memory in the Crypt of St. Paul's
