1 55 1 to the Emperor Charles V; when he married a niece of
Osiander. Archbishop of Canterbury, 1533. Supporter of
the policy of Henry VIII. On the death of Edward VI he
supported the claims of Lady Jane Grev. Convicted of
treason and deprived, Nov. 1553. Committed to the Tower.
Tried for heresy at Oxford, 1555. Burnt there, Mar. 21,
