the rectors of the provostry to convocation (an abbreviated
form, referring to the form in the archdeaconry of York now-
missing).

210. 3 kal. Nov. (Oct. 30, 1298). Otteley. Mandate to
the deans of Aynesty, Schireburne and the Christianity of
York, to give notice that, on Saturday in the octave of St.
Martin (Nov. 15), in Ripon church, Roger de Cawode, a
clerk, charged with homicide in a secular court, would purge
himself. Also to the dean of Retford that Richard son of
Penna de Bekingham, a clerk, charged in a secular court
with arson would do the same.
