Writ from the king, directing an inquiry into the question
of the legitimacy of the above named, who had arraigned an
assize of mort d' ancestor before the king's justices at York
against Ralph, son of Robert Abelot, about an acre of land in
Leyborn ; against Robert, son of Robert Abelott, about
half an acre of land in the same vill ; and against William,
son of William le Clerk of Leyborn, about two acres of
meadow in the same vill. The defendants had alleged the
plaintiff was a bastard.
