and Anthony de GoldeburghV clerks, why they should not
receive canonical institution to the prebends in Houeden'
church.

Same day and place. The archb. to William de Somersete
and Robert de Theuilby, his clerks. Reciting a letter from
himself to the keeper of the spirituality of Houedene, of
the same date, in which he stated that the prebendaries or
portioners in the church of Houedene had always been
instituted to their prebends or portions by the archbishops
of York, and that Thomas de Goldeburg', who laid claim
to the prebend of Skipwyth' in that church, and Anthony
de Goldeburg', his brother, to the prebend, which had
belonged to Master Alexander de Alverton', had been
presented by the prior and convent of Durham, the
patrons of the prebends, and that Thomas had been
presented to the archb. and Anthony to archb. Wickwane,
and that they had been cited to come to receive institution
on the Monday after Michaelmas last past (Oct. i, 1291),
but had never appeared ; the archb. ordered the keeper to
cite them in the churches of Skipwyth' and Houeden' to
appear before Master John de Craucumbe, his vicar general,
on the next law day after the Purification, in York Minster.
The archb. orders Somersete and Theuilby to go to the
keeper and see these orders are carried out.
