nally granted to James Micheltree in 1767. He also purchased part of
the land of Andrew Thompson — (10) — where he lived and died — "His-
tory of Juniata and Susquehanna Valleys," p. 871. He married twice :
first Elcy Pauly (born April 16, 1788; died Nov. 28, 1829, aged 41 years,

called "Farmer" to distinguish him from his uncle Andrew Thompson
(10) who was called "Tailor." He settled on his father's place and
bought other lands adjoining. In March, 181 7, he purchased from John
Thompson land originally granted to James Micheltree in March, 1761.
He married twice; hrst Rebecca Stewart (born Dec. 15, 1782; died Jan.
24, 1852), daughter of William and Elizabeth Stewart and granddaugh-
ter of Archibald and Alargaret Stewart who came to this country from
Newry, Ireland, and in Sept., 1753, settled on what was known as the
Bark Tavern Tract in Perry County, Pa. — See (10). Children of
Andrew and Rebecca (Stewart) Thompson, (i) David, (2) William
Stewart, (3) Robert Newton, (4) Mitchell A., (5) Addison, (6) Sarah,
(7) Andrew. Andrew Thompson married secondly in 1840 the widow

(Adams) Johnson who moved from South Carolina to Bloomington,
