F5668 Sergeant Elisha E. Locke, born Jan. 17, 1843, mar-
ried May 5, 1862, Lucy M. Smallcon, born in Barrington, Sept.
5, 1843. He was raised on a farm and early learned the habits
of honesty, industry and steadfastness which still follow him.
In 1862 he was largely instrumental in raising Company F. 13th
Reg. but declined all commissions save Sergeant. His brothers
George and Irving C, enlisted in the same company. Wounded
in the left hand at Fredericksburg he was compelled to accept a
discharge for disability March 19, 1863. Upon his return home
he again took up the useful duties of civil life, where by honesty
he has acquired a competency. Fair dealing and generosity
have made him respected and honored by hosts of friends.

business instincts combined with foresight and sound judgment
has even thus early in life brought well earned success. For sev-
eral years he has been extensively engaged in the lumber business
where by just dealings he has earned the esteem of all and is

Ivory and Mary (Seavey). He enlisted in Co. F. 13th Reg. and
was a corporal in 1864. He lives in South Barrington, a farnier.
