1281. Zeballos, Estanislao Severe. Bibliographic argentine de droit inter-

national prive, par ordre chronologique. (In Bulletin argentin de droit
international prive, fonde et public par Estdnislao S. Zeballos. Buenos
Aires, 1903-10. 23 cm. v. 1-2).

An important contribution to the bibliography of the subject, the value of which is greatly
enhanced by the authorative critical comments of the compiler a distinguished statesman, jurist,
author and editor, former professor of private international law in the University of Buenos
Aires, and three times minister of foreign affairs of Argentina. The Bulletin contains also other
sections, Bibliographic Strangere, Bibliographic ge'ne'rale, etc., reviewing the current litera-
ture of the subject with critical appreciations.

The Revista de derecho, historia y letras, also founded and directed by Dr. Zeballos and now
in its 68th volume (1921) is a valuable source of information concerning current Hispanic Ameri-
can bibliography, giving titles of recent publications, not only in Argentina but also in other
countries. A special section " Bibliograf fa (catalogo razonado de mi biblioteca) gives full titles
and collations, with critical reviews by the editor.

CRITICAL NOTES ON SOURCES BY JOSE TORIBIO

MEDINA

(Translated by C. K. JONES)

The compiler feels that he is fortunate in being able, with the author's
permission, to supplement this list with the critical notes on biblio-
graphical sources of Sefior Jose Toribio Medina, freely translated from
his Biblioteca Hispano- Americana (14931810).

It would be a work of supererogation in addressing bibliographers
and students of Hispanic American history to outline the products of
Sefior Medina's fine scholarship and indefatigable labor in the fields of
history, literature, and bibliography. This note is added simply as
a tribute of homage, respect and appreciation, personal and collective,
for the compiler well knows that every student of these subjects in
this country is grateful to the distinguished Chilean scholar who has
placed such indispensable bibliographical tools at his command.
