Report of the Mental and Manual Examiners

Cincinnati, O., Jamiary i, 1902.

To the Honorable the Board of Police Commissioners:

Gentlemen, — The Board of Mental and Manual Ex-
aminers begs leave to submit the following synopsis of its
work for the year 1901.

Eighty -three sessions were held, at which an average
of twelve sergeants, corporals, and patrolmen (a total of 996)
were examined in the usual branches of reading, writing,
spelling, manual, and location. An inspection of the de-
tailed records shows a very gratifying result of the com-
petitive system.

Thanking your honorable Board for courtesies extended
in the past, we have the honor to be

Respectfully,

J. KIERSTED,

E. G. BETTY,

Mental and Manual Examiners.
