manded a volunteer company. He received land for his
service. He was born in Pendleton County, S. C. ; died in
Fayette County, Ga.

Benjamin Catchings was a major during the Revolution. He
was also judge of the Washington County, Virginia Court,
when nine Tories were hung for murder and treason. He was
born in Virginia ; died in Wilkes County, Ga.

born in Bedford County, Va., where he died in 1817.

Jeduthan Baldwin (1730-88) was colonel of engineers, Conti-
nental Army, when he was appointed to command the
Artificers. His regiment of sappers and miners rendered
invaluable service to the close of the war.

Safety, and in 1780 he and his son Thomas served as privates

Darby McGannon (1756-1830) enlisted in Culpeper County,
Va., 1777, under Capt. Moore Fauntelroy, regiment com-
manded by Col. Stephen Moyland. He was at Brandywine
and Monmouth. In 1825 he was allowed a pension for three
years' actual service as corporal, Pennsylvania Line. He
died in Jennings County, Ind.

of Kings' Mountain under Col. Benjamin Cleveland. He

was born in Albemarle County, Va. ; died in Nashville, Tenn.
