V. - SHIPPING IN OCTOBEE, 1907.
The tonnage of vessels entered at ports in the United Kingdom
from foreign countries and British possessions, with cargoes, during
October, 1907, amounted to 3,747,347 tons, and the tonnage
cleared to 5,213,633 tons, as against 8.893,768 tons entered, and
4,953,773 tons cleared durmg October, 1906. With regard to
the coasting trade, the tonnage entered with cargoes during
October, 1907, amounted to 2,641,516 tons, and the tonnage
cleared to 2,627,343 tons, as against 2,897,780 tons entered, and
2,887,539 tons cleared in October, 1906.

VL— TEN XONTHS' SHIPPING (JANUABT-OCTOBEB).

The tonnage of vessels entered at ports in the United Kingdom
from foreign countries and British possessions, with cargoes,
during the ten months ended 31st October, 1907, amounted
to 34,544,179 tons, and the tonnage cleared to 47,983,133 tons, as
against 35,148,880 tons entered and 45,355,681 tons cleared during
the correspondiiig period of 1906. With regard to the coasting
trade, the tonnage entered with cargoes during the ten months
ended Slst October, 1907, amounted to 26,093,691 tons, and
the tonnage cleared to 25,776,753 tons, as against 27,498,408 tons
entered and 27,120,913 tons cleared during the corresponding
period of 1906.



TRADE OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND BRITISH
POSSESSIONS.
