. . (55«6) Peter Sr. on 6SEP1636 in Boston was censured for drunkeness to be whipped, and
to have twenty stripes inflicted, and fined £5, for slighting the Magistrates for what
they could do, saying they could but fine him. The fine was remitted to 20§. On
4DEC1638, he and Richard Geaves were referred to the court in Salem for fighting. He
later left for Hartford, CT.
By 5JU1I1648, he was living in Varwick, Kent County, Rhode Island where he was granted a
six acre house lot. On 18JA51649, he sold John Wickes all his right in a meadow adjacent
to Pawtuxet River for 'three quarts of sack*. On 18MAR1651, he was chosen Town Sergeant
to replace John Cook who had been dismissed for a misdemeanor. On 7FEB1653, he was
granted a 6 acre lot for his service to the town.
In 1657, he was sued by Ezekial Holliman for debt, by Thomas Bradley for slander, and

Busecot, Peter (Cont. ) #5506-B
Peter Sr. on 4JUL1681 made an agreement with Hugh Stone, deeding him 12 acres, but not
to be molested in quiet and peaceable possession of his house while he lives, and also to :
retain for life, orchard on said 12 acres, and privilege of enclosing 3 acres for his use i
while he lives. His son-in-law to give him a cow already agreed on, and at Peter's
death, the house , orchard and all the 12 acres to belong to Hugh Stone. If Peter died
within two years, his son-in-law Hugh Stone was to pay f2, 10§, to assignees of said
Peter Busecot. Both signed the agreement.
His surname seems to be French 4 may have been descended from French Huguenots who fled
France to escape repression against French Protestants by the Catholic majority.
. . (5506-2) Peter Jr. was shot in the leg accidentaly by another boy. Warwick raised
monies to send the boy to Newport RI for treatment but it was unsuccessful 4 he died
young.
