Thomas, Wethersfield, from Wood Ditton, in Co. Cambridge, came to
Boston in the Increase, 1635, aged 55, with w. Frances, 50 ; and ch. Mar-
garet, 23, as the custom-ho. rec. imports, but she was bapt. 23 -Sept. 1.607 ;
Lydia, 22, but bapt. 14 July 1616, and that age might have suit, better
an elder sis. Eliz. bapt. 12 May 1614, wh.' did not come; Mai-y, 16;
Frances, 12, bapt. 4 Sept. 1621 ; and John, 10, bapt. 29 Sept. 1624.
He d. hef. 25 Dec. 1640, when ment. of the Ids. of Frances the wid. is
found. She d. Nov. 1 650. Margaret m. Richard Law, the gr.f. of Gov.
Law; Lydia m. Robert Hayward or Howard of Windsor; Mary m.
John Root ; and Frances m. Thomas Uffoot ; and the three first nam.
had ch. but the last none. To the dilig. fondness of Payne Kenyon K.
of Litchfield, Esq. in 1847, were we indebt, for a copious memor. of
predecess. and descend, in 140 pages, wh. is multipl. threefold in 1856.
Thomas, wh. came in the Elizabeth, from Ipswich, 1634, aged 24, with
w. Eliz. 20, was eldest s. of the preced. bapt. 30 Nov. 1609, sent by 4|ie
f. in adv. to make prepar. for the fam. migrat. but no more is kn. of him,
so that it is not improb. that soon aft. his f. arr. he went home. Thomas,
Hartford, s. of the first John, m. Hannah, d. of William Hills, had
Thomas, b. a. 1677; John; Mary, 1686; Naomi, 1693; and Samuel,
1696. Prob. the last three d. young, for they are not nam. in settlem. of

Salem 1637, had then, says Felt, a gr. of Id. but was of Dedham soon
after, and may have short time liv. at Ipswich ; by w. Alice had Lot, b.
11 Sept. 1640 ; and Sarah, 4 Jan. 1642 ; was freem. 2 June 1641. He
was of the ch. at .Wenham bef. 1655, when he rem. to Chelmsford.
II Daniel, Wenham, ar. co. 1645. Daniel, Wenham, s. of the preced.
freem. 1680. John, Dedham 1654; perhaps was of Brookfield 1690,
a,nd his fam. in poverty. Lot, Salem 1670, s. of Austin, went to En-
field, d. 26 Oct. 1683, being the first d.in the town. He had James, and

KiLTON, Robert, is on the list of Gallop's comp. in Phips's crusade
against Quebec 1690, but of what town he was inhab. or of any thing

of John Severns. He is call, by Thomas Scott (a passeng. with w. and
fam. in the same sh.) br. and this may mean, that one m. a -sis. of the
other, or they m. sis. but in this case not, I judge, the mere ch. relationsh.
See Scott. It is said, that two of his s. Thomas and William, were k. ■
by the Ind. in 1675 ; but I suppose Caleb was one. A William K. of
capt. Oliver's comp. was wound. 19 Dec. 1675, in the gr. battle of
Narraganset, but he was of Boston, and serv. as substitute for his master,
John Clear. An Eliz. K. aged 13, was passeng. in the same sh. with
Henry and Richard ; but • on the custom-ho. list is not insert, as ch. of

perhaps eldest d. of Nicholas, had John, b. 1 July 1656, rem. to Boston,

1670, and Eliz. 8 Sept. 1671. He was bur. on Copp's hill, d. 29 Jan.-
1689, was b. 15 Jan. 1622, Sarah m. Richard Knight of Boston, and
attain, no little eelebr. as skil. in trade and observant of manners. See

KiMBERLT, Abraham, New Haven, s. of Thomas, had Mary, bapt.
24 July 1659 ; and fam. tradit. says, went to S. Carolina, and there was
k. by the Ind. Eleazer, Glastonbury, s. of Thomas, said to be the
first male b. in New Haven, was in 1661 sch.master at Wethersfield,
and contin. in that employm. at intervals till 1689 ; was freem. 1667,
and in 1696 succeed. Col. John Allyn, as Seer, of the Col. and so cent,
to his d. Feb. 1709. He left s. Thomas, and four ds. refer, to in his will,
two m. and two, Eliz. and Kuth, unm. Thomas, Dorchester 1635, had
w. Alice, with wh. he rem. to New Haven 1639 ; his est. was then small.
His w. by wh. he had Eleazer, bapt. 17 Nov. 1639; and Abiah, 19
Dec. 1641 ; beside five or six others, bef. or aft. d. 1659, at New Haven ;
hem. ano. w. and rem. to Stratford, there d. 1673; in his will of 11
Jan. of that yr. he names his s. Thomas, Abraham, Nathaniel, and
Eleazer, w. Mary, and sev. ds. Of these Hannah was b. so late as
1656 ; Abiah m. a Boardman, and she and three ch. are refer, to in his
will ; and Mary m. Nathaniel Hayes, prob. and her 3 ch. Nathaniel,
Eliz. and Mary, are nam. in it. Thomas was freem. 1669, had w.
Hannah, and with Nathaniel, propr. at New Haven 1685; but T. had
no ch. and it is said Nathaniel left s. of the same name. Great var. in^
spell, of this name occurs both at D. and New Haven; Kinnersly, Kim-
erly, Kemmerly, and even with C. for first let. are found. At New
Haven the fam. is perpet. with repute, and four had been gr. at Yale
in 1829.

wid. m. JL721, Jonathan Graves. Clement, Marshfield, by Miss Thomas,
