Mass., where she was b. Feb. 10, 1795. Settled in Nor-
ton, and have resided in same house ever since ; the
house is situated about 2 miles E. from the R. R. depot.
Mr. N. was many years engaged largely in manufacture
•of cotton thread, l)atting and wadding ; has accumulated
a fortune by that T)usiness ; is the oldest cotton thread
manufacturer now living in the U. S. ; now retired from
■ business. Apr. 17, 1873, Mr. and Mrs. N. celebrated
their golden wedding; there were guests — relatives —
from Milford, Canton, Easton, Taunton, North Bridge-

water, AttleLoro', Mansfield, Sharon, Northfield and
New York. In the evening, the granddau. of the aged
couple, Harriet B. Havward, wore her grandmother's
wedding dress; the dress, made of white satin, with
crape over-dress trimmed with satin ribbons, was a hand-
some piece of work ; the waist was 3 inches long, the
skirt 2 yards around ; she also wore hei' silk stockings,
kid slippers, and shell comb — all of which were in a
good state of preservation. The occasion was doubly
interesting, as it was the 29th anniversary of the mar-
riage of their eldest daughtei*.

graph taken in 1873.
