said Woods, stating that while on duty at Lechmere's Point he was wounded
in the thigh by a swivel ball from a ship of war belonging to the enemy ; that
on account of his wound he had lost about 8 mos. time and had been at con-
siderable expense, and asking that an allowance be made him by the General
Court; also, certificate dated Amherst, Dec. 31, 1784, signed by William Kit-
tredge and Silas Ball, Surgeons, certifying said Woods to be unsound of body
and likely to remain so on account of a wound received in the Continental ser-
vice; also, certificate dated Shutesbury, Nov. 6, 1792, signed by the Selectmen,
certifying that said Woods had for several years received a pension from the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts on account of a wound received while in ser-
vice and that he had removed from Shutesbury to Sudbury, Rutland Co., Vt.,
