Lieutenant, with other officers, tried on charge of deserting their posts on Onion
river without orders or being attacked or forced by the enemy, found guilty,
and sentenced to be cashiered, to forfeit pay, which was to be appropriated to
make good the damage sustained by the mhabitants on Onion river, their sen-
tences to be published in the newspapers, and all of them declared to be unfit
to hold military commissions or to be employed in the future by the United
States. [Name appears as Jonathan Wight in the same general order.]
