Waters, Daniel. Petition dated Boston, March 10, 1777, signed by Jolm Brad-
ford, Continental Agent, stating that he had fitted out the schooner " Lee,"
which was formerly commanded by said Waters, for a cruise against the
enemy, and asking that John Skimmer be commissioned as commander of
said vessel ; ordered in Coimcil March 10, 1777, that a commission be issued ;
also, return dated Boston, July -, 1779, of armed vessels employed by the
Board of War on Penobscot expedition ; said Waters reported as commander
of the ship "General Putnam," owned by Nathaniel Shaw; reported com-
missioned July 9, 1779; also, Captain, ship, " (ieneral Putnam ; " engaged July

7, 1779; .service to Sept. 7, 1779, 2 mos., on Penobscot exi)edition ; roll sworn to
in Suffolk Co. ; also, petition datcsd Boston, Jan. 29, 1781, signed by Thomas
Russell, of Boston, asking that said Waters be commissioned as commander
of the ship "Friendship" (privateer) ; advised in Council Jan. 30, 1781, that
a commission be issued.

Waters, Ebenezer, Sutton. Adjutant, Col. Ebenezer Leamed's regt. ; engaged
April 19, 1775; service, 11 days; also, petition addressed to the General Court
assembled at Boston INIarch 5, 1777, signed by said Waters, stating that he went
toRoxbury with the ^Minutis-men and acted as Adjutant to the regiment from
April 19, 1775, to May 1, 1775, 15| days, travel (100 miles) included ; that by
mistake he was not allowed his full time on Col. Learned's roll, and asking for
a further allowance ; £1 allowed said Waters by resolve of March 15, 1777.

an alarm.

Waters, Edward. Receipt dated Springfield, May 8, 1782, for bounty paid said
Waters by the town of Blandford to serve in the Continental Army for the
term of 3 years ; also. Private, Capt. Peter Clayes's (Light Infantry) co., Lieut.
Col. Calvin Smith's ((>th) regt.; return for wages for the year 1782; wages
allowed said Waters from April 20, 1782, to Dec. 31, 1782, 8 mos. 12 days.
