and states that as there were 30 men ready for service in the company he was
desirous of being commissioned as 1st Lieutenant; also, Lieutenant, Capt.
Josiah Jenkins's co.. Col. Samuel Brewer's regt.; return certified at Camp
near Valley Forge, Jan. 23, 1778; also, order dated Camp near Valley Forge,
April 9, 1778, signed by said Watts, Lieutenant, and others, officers of Col.
Brewer's regt., for clothing to be delivered Lieut. Col. Littlefield; also, coni-
mimication addressed to the Board of War, at Boston, dated West Point, Dec.
