PREFACE
T N presenting the eleventh volume of the Medical Directory
OF New York, New^ Jersey and Connecticut, the Medical
Society of the State of New York has endeavored to present
the best Medical Directory possible of these three States.
In compiling the list of Physicians in New York State, the
resolution of the House of Delegates passed on May 19, 1906,
has been strictly complied with, viz. :
"Resolved, That in the Medical Directory of New York,
New Jersey and Connecticut, published by the Medical
Society of the State of New York, only the names of regis-
tered physicians be inserted."
The Medical Society of the State of New York will con-
sider it a favor if any one finding errors in this book will
report the same, so that they may be corrected in future
editions.
The total number of physicians in lists contained in
Volume XI of the Medical Directory is 16,785, of which
I3>023 are in New York State. 2,458 in New Jersey, 1,304 in
Connecticut. Of the 13,023 physicians in New York State,
4,865 are credited to Manhattan and Bronx, 1,778 to Brooklyn,
184 to Queens, 62 to Richmond, a total for Greater New York
of 6,889, which makes the number of physicians residing in
the rest of the State 6,134.
