(The following documents were also found in the hair trunk
before mentioned, and will be placed with the other records.

A number of original deeds, which Imd been recorded.

An undated survey by William Seaman of about 196 acres,
92 of which belonged to Hesekiah (probably Cock).

A survey made 2d Month (Feb.) 20, 1767, by Samuel Willis,
of land of Daniel and Loretta Cock.

A voluntary indenture of apprenticeship, made for and by
Hesekiah Ingraham, "Late son of [ ]," for 14 years

and 9 months, dated 1727/8. Fragment.

An unsigned deed of 1791, to Daniel and Loretta Cock, from
15 grantors, for 15% acres near Matinecock meeting house, worn
at edge.

A description bounding several parcels of land in the Locust
Valley vicinity, probably written in the Nineteenth Century, for
insertion in a deed.)

Hendrickson's Purchase.

This name, as an alternative to "Rim of the Woods," is frequently
used in the later records of the Bethpage Purchase, for the land in
Thomas Powell's second deed from the Indians, 1700. It was
called "Daniel Hendrickson's Purchase" in one instance. This
confused appellation appears to have arisen from fact that a large
area in Foster's Meadow, on the eastern line of Hempstead, had
long been in possession of the Hendrickse or Hendricksen family.

the published genealogies of those families. For other individuals parentage or ancestry is shown
where expedient. Care has been taken in distinguishing the individuals, some of whom are called
"Jr." and later "St.," but owing to the lack of data in certain families, some items may be assigned
to the wrong individual. The dates of deeds are given in "New Style," the present calendar.
