||This is an ambitious attempt by Dr. Miller to produce his family history, and it has been very helpful to hundreds of family history researchers. Readers are cautioned, however, that Dr. Miller made one serious error. He took his ancestor James Weston (b. 1768, parents unknown, husband of Eunice Rodgers, resident of Mill Village, Erie Co. Pennsylvania, father of 14 children, d. 1856), and melded him into another James Weston who was born in 1755, was a Revolutionary War veteran, the fourth child of James Weston (b. 1723) and Abigail Dunham (b. 1720); he moved from Mass. to Vermont, then settled in the northeast corner of New York State, where he died in 1840, the father of 11 children. Miller mistakenly assigned the military records that belong to James Weston (1755) to James' father (1723), put the son's birth year as 1768, and therefore claimed him as an ancestor. This has caused no small number of errors on many family trees. Miller's introduction to the Weston family (page 59) should be disregarded. Interested researchers of James Weston (1768) should examine the Langley Family Tree (Ancestry) which contains virtually all known documents related to that man. Those interested in the other James Weston (1755) should consult "Mayflower Families Through Five Generations (Vol 3, 1980), pages 1-7, 13, 40, and 132. See also Daniel McMillen Family Tree (owner "Dingwall") for extensive documentation.
