RECOMMENDATION.

The Poor Man's Morning Portion, by the Rev. Dr.
Hawker, is an excellent devotional work. The selection
of Scripture texts is judicious, and the remarks upon them
are pious, practical, and evangelical. They are written
with great tenderness, as well as plainness and purity. It
is recommended to Christians, in every situation of life, as
an auxiliary to profitable meiiitation and growth in grace.
