city's forces in 1909. Since that year he has been identified ivith hydraulic construction of various natures for the
engineering department of San Francisco. His work is a record of achievement that will stand forever. The name McAfee
and the term Hetch Hetchy are synonymous.

school have been called for.
Francisco Junior High School :
(Francisco, Powell, Bay and Stock-
ton Streets).
Structural steel has been com-
pleted on this job and forms are
now being placed for fire-pr(X)fing.
George Washington High School:
(Geary, Balboa Streets, Thirtieth
and Thirty-second Avenues).
Architects are engaged on the pre-
liminary plans for the above build-
ing.
James Lick Junior High School:
(Twenty-fifth, Clipper, Noe and
Castro Streets).
Architects are engaged on the
final plans for the above project.
Park-Presidio Junior High School:
(Twenty-ninth and Thirtieth Ave-
nues, Geary and Clement Streets).
Blackboards and cork carpets are
being installed. Painting is ap-
proximately completed. Yard work
is now being done and all exterior
plaster work is 90 per cent com-
pleted. Bids will be received for
the installation of chairs on June 4.
Plumbing, electrical and mechanical
equipment is keeping pace with the
general construction.
Polytechnic High School (Addi-
tion) : ( Frederick, Willard, Argu-
ello Boulevard).
Work on the equipment of the
stage is now under way.
Roosevelt Junior High School:
(Arguello Boulevard and Geary
Street).
Trim in this building is practically
completed. Blackboard has been
set. J^ainting is being completed
and the building is now ready for
the kitchen equipment. Bids were
received for the installation of the
chairs and the contracts awarded.
South Side (Balboa) High School :
( Otsego, Oneida, Cayuga and Onon-
daga Avenues).
Third Unit: Bids for this build-
ing were received on May 7 and the
contracts were let.
Civic Auditorium: (Civic Center).
Canopy and gridiron are practic-
ally completed. Electrical work is
being pushed.
