BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Timothy Earl Ackley was bom in Massillon, Ohio in
19^7 • He was raised in Southeastern Ohio on a small dairy
farm roughly equidistant between those two cosmopolitan
hubs of culture, Crooked Tree and Dunganin, Ohio. He was
educated in the public schools of Ohio and Florida. He
received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Rollins
College in 1970 and 1971. He received his Doctor of Phi-
losophy Degree from the University of Florida in 1975.
His graduate major was philosophy of education. His minor
was philosophy,

Mr. Ackley 's primary academic interests lie in exploring
normative educational issues. His avocations include several
sports, especially basketball and fishing. While completing
this study, he has served as a part time instructor in the
Graduate Prograso in Education at Rollins College,
