NOTES.

1. Officers are entitled to credit for "sea duty'' while attached to cruisiiig cutters
in commission; when attached to harbor cutters or launches they are credited with
''harbor duty''; when attached to inshore patrol cutters they are credited with
''harbor duty" or "sea duty" as the circumstances warrant; and when performing
under orders any duty which does not entitle them to credit for "sea duty" or
"harbor duty" they are credited with "special duty."

2. The abbreviation (E), when used after the titles of commissioned officers, denotes
"engineering."

3. The abbreviation (E), when used after the titles of warrant officers, denotes
"electrical."

4. The abbreviation (A), when used after the titles of warrant officers, denotes
"aviation."
