Marriages at Fen Drayton,



1580 to 1812.



Note.— The Marriafics are eonlaincd in three volumes— Volume I. is a
parchment book contaiTiing also Baptisms and Burials, the earliest
entry of each being 1576 and 1573 respectively. '1 he book itself
dates from 1598. There arc now 35 leaves, 11 i by 7 inches;
apparently one leaf of Marriages (1591-1602) is missing, and also
the Burials from 1629-1653 ; but these have now been recovered
from the Ely Transcirpts, which begin in 1599. Bound up with
these are 35 leaves SJ by 6i inches, in no sort of chronological
order ; this part of the register, reaching to 1714, has been kept
very irregularly, though there are some entries for every year.

Volume II., also a parchment book, contains Baptisms and
Burials from 1714 to 1783, and Marriages to 1754 : the book has
been well kept and there arc no gaps.

Volume III. is the usual book with printed forms for both Banns
and Marriages.

This transcript has been made by Rev. E. Young, incumbent
of Fen Drayton, who has a complete transcript of all the registers
of the parish, with index.
