Note. — The earliest Morvah Register is in excellent preservation. The
leaves are of parchment. It contains marriages from 1617 to 1763,
Baptisms from 1653 to 1812, and Burials from 1655 to 1812. The
entries from 1617 to 1704 are all in tiie same handvvrting. A note
at the end of the marriages states that •' for marriages in Morvah
from 1754 to 1813, see Madron Register." The Rev. W. B. Tremen-
heere, M. A., Vicar of Madron and Morvah, has given permission for
the printing of the marriages, which have been extracted for the

Note. — There are, at Bodmin, transcripts of Gulval Baptisms, Marriages
and Burials, for the following years : — 1674, 1681, 1683, 1684, 1686,
1687, 1690, 1693-1697, 1700, 1701, 1703, 1704, 1708, 1710, 1711, 1713-
1716, 1719-1727, 1729-1736, 1741-1772. Hereunder are given the re-
sults of a collation of Messrs. Millett and Bolitho's Gulval Registers,
with the transcripts. The variations are remarkably few, and wit-
ness alike to the care with which the register was kept and to the
accuracy of the published volume.

Marriages at Qwinear,

1560 to 1812.

Note.— Volume I. of the Gwinear Registers contains Baptisms, Marriages,
and Burials, from 1560 to 1736. It is quite legible throughout, but the
outer edges of some of the leaves are much worn and in places are
defective. Volume II. is in good condition, and gives Baptisms and
Burials, from 1737 to 1812, and Marriages from 1737 to 1755. Both
of these volumes require to be repaired and rebound. Volume III.
gives the rest of the marriages up to 1812, in the form prescribed
by Hardwicke's Act. The Rev. T. Taylor has copied the marriages,
and they are here printed by permission of the Rev. Arthur J.
