Dr. Ichabod Howe Searle attended the district school in Bedlam or
Ko. 4 during the summer and winter terms until he was ten years old, and
the winter terms six or more years. Later he attended the Sheldon Academy
in Southampton. Still later he attended school at illiston Seminary in
Easthampton, completing a full course in latin. Since then taught school
for several terms and studied medicine at the same time.
Fe graduated in medicine at Castleton Medical College, Vermont, in
1860, and joined the army as assistant surgeon in 1862. He was afterwards
made full surgeon. as at the tent most of the time during his service.

After his muster out he returned to Syracuse, where he ha9 since been
engaged in the practice of medicine.
"Dr. Ichabod lT . Searle, 61. of Syracuse, i.T. a native of Southampton,
died at his home in Syracuse, Thursday, April 22 1893. Dr. Searle was a
son of the late Thaddeus Searle, and graduated at 'illiston Seminary, after
which he engaged in teaching and studied in Syracuse, (medicine). Later
he took a medical course in Castleton, Vt. and there completed the education
which he had gained through his efforts. After practicing medicine in
Syracuse for a fen years he enlisted in the war, serving until its close.
Dr. Searle had gained a large and lucrative practice, and was one of the
leading physicians of Syracuse. Besides a wife, son and two daughters,
one of whom is in Smith CAllege, he leavs two brothers and a sister, £. P.

Enoch moved with his parents to Plymouth Illinois in August 1836.
He was educated at Knox College, Caleeburg, Illinois. He went to California
In 1859 and returned in 1867. They moved to Carthage, Gasper Co. Missouri,
where he entered into the real estate and insurance business. He was a
deacon in the Congregational church for many years, and a prominent Sunday
School worker. Re organized the Jasper County Sunday School association;
was elected president of the whole eleventh district. Hemoved with his wife
Oct 22 1885 to Chattanooga, Tennessee, there he now resides (1888).
He was present at the Searle reunion in Southampton, Mass. in company
Lusaen B. Searle of Chattanooga, and Dr. William Searle of Auburn, New York,
Oct 12 1887. He was one of the principal speakers on that happy occasion.
