of Bedlaa street* since known as the Johnson farm. The house stood near
Tripple's brook.

and founded a homestead. In April, 1803, he attended the funeral of his
brot er'a child who had died of scarlet fever. J! e turning home, he brought
the contnnion aith him, and within a fortnight he loot four of hie own
ehlldren, including his oldest son of fifteen years. Two months later he
met his own violent death; he was kille by a yoke of fractious steers
which ran away with him in the field. T e was an estimable and worthy man
and highly respected. His wido*, Rachel (Bates) Searl, ■ Do* 20 1807,
Isaac i -arsons, and lived in Southampton to the age of ninety years.
